Hi, I bought my OLP MM1F about a year ago, & like you i ordered one in a Trans Gold Finish but received a yellow one, which did pee me off but the guitar plays so well i soon forgot about my disappointment. As far as the Pickups go, i think they have a great tone & have no plans to replace them. You could try a Seymour duncan blues saraceno trembucker, they sound real nice, the DiMarzio Evolution has a great tone too. For a cheaper guitar OLP are value 4 money. Hope his helps. Matt.
