A simple example would be a tree, which is a part of a forest habitat. That forest habitat is the tree's local purpose. Since existence is a non-linear hyper-dimensional duality, purpose, like all things, has infinite dimensions extending outwardly, and so, the forest habitat is merely one of the greater dimensions of the tree's purpose. Other greater dimensions of its purpose are Earth, Solar System, galaxy, and ultimately, Universe. Purpose emerges as a whole of parts, a context of meaning.

I can see how you might think that, thinkofwhy. I do not see purpose as "only an act that one performs" but I do see in a more non-linear awareness: that it is an integral, spontaneous and active part of life in all it's forms (rather than a duality). Love, as the force that creates and perpetuates life, can be/is both a natural phenomena and an act of will. The purpose being the harmonious integration of interconnected systems (I'm a wordy one this morning!) moving onward together. Hmm, ???

Again, u r letting your linear brain dominate your perception by describing the purpose of a plant as an act or function which it performs. Try thinking of purpose in non-linear terms - not as an act or behavior, but rather as the thing which its actions or behaviors serve. Have you heard the phrase to serve ones purpose? Well how can the act of serving ones purpose also be ones purpose? The act of serving ones purpose is, in fact, the meaning of ones purpose - the means by which it exists. :)

You do make a good point about the plant. It does serve a purpose as far as providing oxygen for other beings on the earth, but it's not conscious or can make it's own decisions. I agree that life is what people make of it. Everyone creates their own meaning to life.

It's not so much the public bathroom itself, but the slob before you that somehow missed the bowl...while crapping. Freaky! My biggest pet peeve today: Those morons who listen to music in their cars so which is so loud that you can hear it 5 cars ahead at the stop light. Tanakh is actually an acronym that stands for torah-nevi'im-kethuvim. Which in english means "the first five books of moses", "The prophets" (aka haftarah), and "The writings" (which includes psalms, song of songs, and all the other scrolls like esther[the story of purim]) Thank you six years of hebrew school! I tried reading it. I read all of genesis and deutoronomy and stopped. i had the same problem with the lord of rings. just stopped in the middle of two towers. lol. ~Lena :)

My parents are very un-religious, and big haters of the bible. Im actually kinda religious, and went throught the whole process of becoming a bat mitzvah. The other day my mom mistakenly told my friend that the first sentence of the bible was "let there be light". So i grabbed my tanakh to prove her wrong. No matter who the bible was written by, its extremely flawed and not well written. All the numbers (ages, dates, years etc) are all incorrect. The other day my mom asked me to read my tanahk so she could see how soon into the bible it was flawed. Pretty much the first page of genesis when cain somehow finds a wife. Even though hes supposed to be only be the fourth person created. anyways, great video. ur points are very true! :)

When I was a Christian I discovered this independently thru Bible reading alone, even though I was dead against Bible opposers. It's obvious that 2 or more books have been spliced together. The story starts in Gen 1:1, then restarts in Gen 2:4 telling a different story. Different order of creation, differnet name of God. 2 versions of Noah's flood. Samuel and Chronicles tell exactly the SAME story almost word for word except differences in ideology. The pattern repeats throughout the OT.

Another thing I've read is that 10-tribe Israel and 2-tribe Judah were always separate nations. When the Assyrians conquered Israel, Israelite refugees & Levitical priests fled to their neighbour Judah bringing the Israelite Elohist (E) text to Judah which used the Yahwist (J). Redactor (R) merged the J & E in 750 insering his own stuff to smooth out the discrepancy. At later dates, the Priestly & Deuteronomist then re-edited the text (rewrote history) to suit ther own political agenda.

From my understanding when God said that it was Elohim (sp?), plural form of God. Christians have taken that to mean that God was speaking to the members of the Holy Trinity. That is how I look at it (also, this is the same as in Gen. where God says "Let us make man in our own image." As for the tower, no you can't build one to heaven. But you sure can try! lol

I was born in the US. My first wife was born in China, my current wife was born in the Philippines, and so I've had some experience dealing with US Immigration. Prior to 9/11/2001 most of the discrimination in entering the US was economic not racial. Think there's discrimination against Asians? For Filipinos, Thais and Chinese there sure is. I lived in Oakville during college and then Toronto. I loved Toronto. There was so much to do and it's a very cultural city. Fun place. I agree the slippery roads are not fun and that I don't miss. We get some snow her in VA, but not very often. It's considered an emergency if they get an inch of snow and everyone panics! haha We haven't gotten any yet this year.
