Yes, I bought it used for $2. Go to the Activision support site, do a product search for Spider-Man and look at the entries for "Invalid Page Fault in Spideypc.exe" and "Spider-Man falls after a cut-scene". Except for deleting the CFG file, their suggestions dont' work and the "fix" kept my system from booting. If you'd like, I'll happily upload my 2-3 page exchange with customer support while trying to fix the bugs. It works properly on my old 233Mhz computer, but not my 1.8Ghz system.

It's from 2001. Half-Life came out in 1998 and still works fine. Besides, it was still a stupid design decision. When a cutscene ends, they should position your character right where he needs to be to continue. Spider-Man just assumes that the character will have been moved to the right spot during the cutscene (Chase Venom level). As far as I can tell, the cutscene is an actual part of the level that the computer plays for you. If the computer doesn't play it perfectly, you lose the level.

This game sucks! The controls are horrible (turning in 45 degree increments???), no mid-level saving, and the game can't be completed on modern systems without cheating because the cutscenes are actually part of the game (controlled by the computer) and the CPU speed messes up the timing needed to ensure that Spidey is in the right location when the cutscene ends. Activision knew about this, but rather than issue a patch, they tell people to skip the level!

there isn't a free roam mode. but i suppose you could just not complete the level and go off and explore
