Video duration: 494 seconds The twenty ninth song on the Beatles self titled album Note* This is one of the strangest songs you'll ever hear. Actually I wouldn't really call it a song per say. It's just a bunch of random recordings being thrown into one session. Beatles are like the Yang and the Bee Gees the Yin of Rock n Roll history. The Beatles had an enormous amount of success over a relatively short period of time. The Bee Gees had similar success over 40 years, having consistency and longevity. Does that sum it up nicely?

You let me win last round, so I'll let you wiun this one. And in the end, who cares who wins, I am just flabergasted that we are dancing the one dance and with different tunes. I love you Mr Forte. Mmmm Nice name, I hope you know what it means X

Cos I love you. I can't get enough of our cosmic dance. It turns me on.

I already have. That does not take away from anything!
By: ChristForte. on 07 Jan 09, 12:25:30
LOL WRONG. Barry Gibb said himself there wouldn't be a Bee Gees without the Beatles. If you don't believe me watch the video I just favorited.

In 100 years this intellectualising will not matter. What will matter is what is in peoples' hearts. And I think music will still be of relevance. But false divisions within music will not be. Beatles and BGs are musical cousins, and I could not imagine one without the other. Peace X

THE TWO GREATEST BANDS EVER!
By: gettyman1. on 05 Jan 09, 13:31:16
sorry, Massachusetts #11 Spicks and Specks didn't chart. I only go buy the US charts they are the biggest and most accurate in the uk and aus charts they did much better. I like the Bee Gees 60's music. Like I said I and most everyone I know will never forgive them for their disco BS. There vids are really useless because they are just opinions of the few who watch and care to vote. When it comes to hard facts and numbers the Beatles win hands down they are the most successful ever.
By: ilsy74. on 05 Jan 09, 11:26:02
Massachusetts, and Spicks & Specks were both #1s in the 60s. Listen to Monday's Rain (a first and best Blue-Eyed Soul track from the 60s, in my opinion) and you may understand why these debates annoy me.
By: gettyman1. on 05 Jan 09, 03:12:01
"It is not a FACT that the beatles are better," But it is. 20 #1 songs, 19 #1 albums, voted best all time Rolling Stone, voted best all time VH-1, Named Icon of the 20th century Variety, named recording artists of the 20th century by the RIAA. to name a few.
By: gettyman1. on 05 Jan 09, 03:07:25
I never said they didn't have talent. They did, I like their 60's material. I just can never forgive them for their role in the rise of that vile noise disco in the 70's. I did check their discography and only found #1's in the 70's, 80's and 90's. Either theirs or written for others.
By: ChristForte. on 05 Jan 09, 02:29:13
The last time I checked the Beatles had 20 #1and the bee Gees only had 1. But I guess i must be going crazy.
By: ChristForte. on 05 Jan 09, 02:23:07
But your the one who said "I bet beatles fans are jealous that 3 brothers wrote #1 songs in 5 consecutive decades, and Top 5 hits for themselves in 4 consecutive decades. 4 Beatles simply never matched this," That just threw what you just said all to hell right there. Why do you keep contradicting yourself.
By: ilsy74. on 05 Jan 09, 02:17:05
It is not a FACT that the beatles are better, but an opinion. Those 2 things should be differentiated, thats all I am saying.
By: ChristForte. on 05 Jan 09, 02:12:55
Why are you arguing with yourself? Because you just contradicted yourself.
By: ilsy74. on 05 Jan 09, 02:10:57
Yes I have been a fan of both (but more the Bee Gees) for over 20 years
By: ilsy74. on 05 Jan 09, 02:08:21
Consider though that the Bee Gees are writers and producers of many songs they never recorded themselves. For example Chain Reaction by Diana Ross was the number 1 song of 1986, and N-Trance had a #1 hit with Stayin Alive 20 years after disco. If its TASTE we are talking about, then there should never be a debate because there is no correct answer.
By: ChristForte. on 04 Jan 09, 20:25:01
You know nothing of The Bee Gees or the Beatles do you?
By: gettyman1. on 04 Jan 09, 20:13:11
Why should we be jealous? The Beatles have 20 #1's in 7 years. The Bee Gee's can't match that not even their garbage disco crap comes close. I checked their #1's and only find three decades just like the Beatles. Except the Beatles have more. Taste matters very much if you consider disco music then I guess the Bee Gee's were good I don't so I think they were OK nothing more. BTW you'd loose your bet big time.
By: ilsy74. on 04 Jan 09, 14:44:27
Bee Gees, because that is where my memories are, and the music that stimulates me and captures my imagination. Beatles are pretty good too. I love George Harrison. But after I met Mo there was never going to be another Bee Gees.
By: ilsy74. on 04 Jan 09, 14:42:30
I bet beatles fans are jealous that 3 brothers wrote #1 songs in 5 consecutive decades, and Top 5 hits for themselves in 4 consecutive decades. 4 Beatles simply never matched this. But who's better? It depends on your taste of course.
By: cewduncan. on 30 Dec 08, 00:37:32
I do like the Bee Gees however there is nothing greater than the Beatles! Beatles 4 - ever
By: powerforward84. on 24 Dec 08, 16:21:28
for me its d Bee Gees bcoz of der uniqueness..the amazing voice of robin and the falseto of barry!
By: gettyman1. on 22 Dec 08, 20:28:49
In the 60's the BeeGees were good real good, not even close to the Beatles though. In the 70's they sold out and went disco. For that they should never again be spoken of.
