Ooops...I should have said 2:01 and 2:02. Sorry.

If quickly observant; it can be debated whether or not Clara was actually wearing panties during frames 1:01 and 1:02. She sure seems intent on covering-things-up a bit soon afterward. She had more that just "IT". She had natural talent.

I just saw this at the Sprekels Organ Pavilion in San Diego with an Orgainist- it was fantastic!

I was lucky to see this at a silent movie theater where an elderly gentleman was playing the organ as the background music. It was magnificent!

But, notice how everyone was wearing suits, and they all look basically the same. Almost as if they didn't really care-but didn't want to seem contreversial-so they just wore what everyone else was wearing..

But dangerous. Look at those rides! That 'social mixer' thing probably wouldn't be allowed today.

This is completely wrong. No movie was ever shown silent. At the very least there was a piano in the theatre.

Hot dogs that sizzle and satisfy! Indeed! ...and some lay the blame at the feet of Clara Bow...the first It-Girl. The Millard Fillmore of Hopscotch. The invention of the hindbrain.

In 1993 during Thanksgiving, I got to see a silent film on the big screen by Charlie Chaplin. The orchestra was down front and they played the original musical score with the musicians playing all the sound effects too and it was mesmerizing to say the least. And when it ended 90 minutes later I was disappointed because I wanted the movie to last much longer. I think the music was added later after "talkies" came out but before then the score was played during the film's run at each theater.

Hey beboppinbetty, you're right about men wearing suits back then to look good. Now days us guys are pigs that wear gootee's,bald heads, and shorts to show off the fat belly and legs. I wear a tie at work and love it. I even wear it while grocery shopping and it feels great.

Clara is the ultimate 20s icon, hands down, she's my favourite!
By: cynthiailly. on 25 Mar 08, 22:42:42
Yeah, the silent movies originally didn't have music; all the music was live (usually a piano player). Then when they released them on video/DVD they added music to the soundtrack.

clara bow is a fantasticly fascinating person
By: beboppinbetty. on 14 Mar 08, 19:49:58
They wore suits because they actually cared about how they looked, unlike men today.

Rumour has it, originally there was no music in these movies. Instead, there were live orchestras playing to accompany them in the theater. These have now been re-made(edited) with music, I think. Good question. And lol.
