Actually, Stan outlived Ollie. Shortly after their last movie "Utopia", Ollie had a heart attack and had died, but Stan never forgot him and always had nothing but great things to say about his pal and partner. Laurel and Hardy were the best.

What a pleasure seeing the great Tim Moore again. This was a great show and simply the black version of the Honeymooners--an oafish type with a sidekick always getting into trouble. As far as it portraying negative stereotypes--I never bought it. These are comic characters. It is no more racist than the Honeymooners were. Plus, many black actors thought the show great because it also portrayed blacks as doctors and lawyers!

And the other reason that the show is no longer on TV is because Bill Cosby bought the rights to the show. He refuses to put the episodes back on the air because, like you said, he feels it represents a negative stereotype about black people. I just think the show is funny and entertaining, so most of the posters here will agree.

This show, in many ways, is one of the finest, all time, comedy shows on TV---ever. I'm also partial to the Honeymooners (a lesser clone ), "Taxi" and "Seinfeld". But "Amos'N Andy" stands alone, in my opinion. Far better--- sets(for the 50's), better scripts, funnier. Three cameras. This is the show that deserves to be seen. The modern day "Black Police", who have have come down on this, are both stupid (thereby reinforcing the stereotype) and doing EVERYONE a disfavor, including, YOU!

Wow, what great memories I have of watching Jackie Wilson when I was a kid. He was a terrific singer and dancer. Lots of people have copied his "moves" (i.e. Michael Jackson). But Jackie was cooler than his mimics. Very smooth and very talented. Too bad he died so young.
