Thank you! And yes, I'm on fotki. My hair grows pretty fast but I did try boundless tresses and MTG for a while, didn't use either for too long so I'm not sure if they made a difference

I'm sorry but your loctician is wrong. There are many ways to start locs. You can start with two strand twists, comb coils, backcombing, or you can freeform. There are probably more ways that I am not aware of. I think you should do some research on it and see which is best for you. You also might want to look for another loctician because that one doesn't seem too educated on the subject or maybe s/he only knows how to start it with twists. Feel free to ask me any questions you have. Good luck!
