This is my favorite recorded rendition of "Paper Doll": perfect blend, showmanship, exuberance! Wasn't guitarist Norman Brown the best? Herbert told me he died suddenly during an engagement in Las Vegas in 1969(?). There seems to be nothing on the "net" about this, so can anyone shed more light? Anyway, they did not replace him. Somehow the trio's aesthetic changed in their last decade, and they became "enshrined" with big orchestras backing them. Thanks, cputb1 for the phenomenal vid.

The original films were all on little 8mm Kodak reels. But about 15 years ago, my father had them randomly transferred (without any edits or music) to a VHS tape at one of the local tape/film duplication houses here in town. Then I (15 years later) just "captured" the analog output from my VCR with some software and a module that converts analog to digital Avi files, and imported these files into my editor. Then I started slicing away. (If you'd like more details, just PM me, and I'll reply)

Ivigtut was my home. 30 yers ago I was born there. and i miss it whit all of my heart. i lived in the town next to ivigtut call Grønnedal, but our house ther burnd a new yers eve sow for som time we lived in ivigutu in Kapella. i have been down at the hole and that is just wow. I love the new widescreen player, but there's about a gazillion 4:3 videos on YT, so I really think that they should offer us the ability switch between a 4:3 and 16:9 player, or at least automatically play 4:3 vids in a 4:3 player. So for YT to not give it's viewers the option to switch between the 2 players (so we don't have to look at those ugly black bars), is just another example of how they never really seem to "get it". Wow, what a tribute. I have to say how impressed I am with these videos cputb1 makes. Some day he is going to be scooped up by some Motion Picture company to do movie trailers (or the like) full time and he won't even talk to us anymore. I loved this spot. Thanks for your reply. I happen to have the album that this song comes from. I have used several Mill's Brother's arrangements by electronically removing the vocals and playing lead tenor sax over the top of the studio arrangements. I do this as a hobby and play out occasionally for a variety of venues and it works out pretty well.

I was just with him yesterday. As his Alzheimer's increases, conversations get harder. But we go out for rides, just around, and he'll lean over and gently grab my arm, and tell me he loves me. And then with a slightly worried tone, he'll ask, "do you know how to get back to where I live"? It's so hard to see this proud, decent man, slowly fade. Thanks for the comment. (I get tears too, but don't tell anyone. I'm a dude.)

...and my mother also had it. She couldn't even recognize me months before her a death. And last year, dad's Alzheimer's had advanced to the point that he needed some supervision. If it was said or happened over 30 minutes ago, he's forgotten it. Guess you can see what "my" future holds. So before I forget, thanks for watching and the comment.

Hahaha. Budso was an annoyingly over used "term of endearment" that a former co-worker used constantly. If you were his best friend, he'd call you Budso. If you were taking his wallet at gunpoint, he'd call you Budso. So when I got my dad to do this greeting to another fellow co-worker, I'd had to get dad to say Budso, to crack up my friend. But getting dad to say it right, proved harder than I thought it was gonna be, hahaha.
