I think the same. Twilight as a movie was average for me. I've also read Stephenie Meyer's books which are much better than screening. These 2 films are completely different. Twilight is sweet, smooth story. True Blood= humor, seriousness, allusions. It's 1.great book 2.great filming :) ave !

just read the second book today and aside from a few interesting moments, I hope to Christ the show goes in a different direction. From what I gather, if the the show stays faithful to the novels Eric will be the main character next to Sookie - It works in the books but I believe most of us will miss Bill - Not that the actor that plays Eric is bad - he's very good - the shift just doesn't seem appropriate.

And I agree that love comes in different ways, however there is such a thing as infatuation. And that is not love. Thats what Bella feels for Edward. Example: Bella wants to hurt herself so Edward will return to her. Love is her accepting that he left for her own good and moving on with her life. That's infatuation in contrast to True Blood. In which Sookie obviously risks herself for Bill's life.

I say real world, as in things that happen to real people. Obviously, vampires don't exist. However, Sookie/other characters go through real life experiences and problems that DO happen.Can Bella say that she has ANY problems that don't have to do with Edward THE VAMPIRE? No. Therefore no readers can relate to her, and that doesn't make for a good book.Secondly,The acting in this show has way more emotion and life than Kirsten S. could ever try to have as Bella.I've seen CATS with more emotion.

This has got to be my favorite TB scene, it really "shines a light" into Bill's true character. Mainstream Bill is sweet and polite (and sensuously sexy), but Vampire Bill is a bad ass you don't mess with (and smokin hot sexy). I agree sarah6978. In the book Eric saves her and gets in trouble not Bill. The books don't portray Bill as nicely as they do in the show. I'm ready to see Eric and Sookie. They brought Sookie there to provide them a service. The fact that they would allow her to be killed makes no sense. They should have atleast gotten the thieving vampire off of her, even if it was just to deal with for his thievery. I understand that they don't care much for humans but their reaction was too unrealistic. The fact that Eric's willing to forget the entire situation in exchange for Sookie says alot about how valuable she is to Eric. Why let Longshadow simply kill her? UNREALISTIC

I think it's best for the series to be a little different, not too much though. I'm enjoying it and hate that there are only 2 more episodes to go! I may re-read the books again as soon as my daughter returns them! This scene is so sad. For anyone that has had a death in their family or close friends can really relate to this sad scene. When I heard this, a baby boy who was only 13 days old died because he was born with no diaphram. And to imagine to have never hold your baby until he has died is unimaginable. This scene just really moved me and I thank god for two very healthy babies.
