But as the composer and performer of the song is actually a teacher at a public school, with students of many different religious backgrounds and traditions, while I can't speak for him, I suspect that "Winter Break" is exactly what he intended. His non-Christian kids aren't stuck in the classroom between mid-December and New Years. And his Christian kids aren't the only ones making important religious observations in December:)
