No his comment was way "cool". I agree with him, his posture, hand position, and technique is poor. He is capable of playing asturias.. I played it when i was in grade 5.. So if i was he obviously is, he just needs to learn proper posture, i.e. his pinky and "a" finger shouldn't be in he golpeador while playing. And cmon, danm48 is giving advice first of all, second of all he wasn't even talking to you like where the fuck did u come from?

the point of me playing that portion of asturias (rightly or wrongly) is just to show you what can be done using both the p-i and p-m-i techniques learned in the aerlier lesson i will try my hand at asturias one of these days :-)

me alegro de ver que hay mucha gente a la que le gusta el flamenco, no entrare en el debate de valorar la interpretacion ni la tecnica, solo decir dos cosas, primero, que el flamenco no tiene fin, y nunca se acaba de aprender, y segundo, que el flamenco admite muchas formas y es la manera de que crezca y se enriquezca, con aportaciones multiples y distintas maneras de ver las cosas. saludos y adelante a todos.

Search for "Paco de Lucia - Almoraima Falseta - Bulerias (Good Quality)" This is the video I was talking about, youtube wouldn't let me post it before, but just watch his thumb placement when hes not using it to play. And also watch for him tapping the tap plate of the guitar, its hard to spot in this video though. But you need to learn to do it while playing chords at the same time, its easier to implement it earlier than later.

I can give you a few tips, im sure your alreaddy aware of some of them but it cant hurt telling you. Im guessing you played a bit of electric or something at least before trying this, so did I, and im no expert either. Youl find that 90 percent of the time flamenco players are playing chords, or anything rasgueado, their thumbs are always planted on the low e string, it helps alot, just planting it there, somewhere always to go back to, and your rasgueado will always work from their.

my point is dan, everyone has bad habits, and thanks to everyone on youtube we are helping keep each other right, and are developing alongside each other. at the end of the day, i'm just showing you the notes to play, its up to yourself to play it as well as you can. i'd watch lots of paco, tomatito, etc for a better understanding of posture etc. just remember i am the first to admit i am rubbish at flamenco! but that is changing :-)

derek, i don't understand what u mean when u say u are not teaching. u are showing how to play picado, etc. if not, why are people thanking u for these lessons?? i have no comment on how you play your solos. as i've said many times, my concern is teaching the novice incorrectly and helping him form bad habits (your bad habits). flamenco guitar is difficult enough without you misleading them. needless to say most people don't even know what real flamenco is. no more comments from me.

You are a good person. I also needed such comments when I was learning. The big secret to learning Flamenco is to listen to the players that accompany the singers. came up with a little progression that sounds nice, although i need to incorporate more techniques once i learn them. i was messing around trying to tap a flamenco compas when i came up with it.
my pc is now not capturing video properly. WHY? it worked before...

i dont even know what you would call them! hold a b minor 7 barre chord, but lift your index off so its only on the actual b note. then when it changes slide your index to c and generally just play around with it from there! :-)
