Now look in the address bar. Select all of it and copy it. Now go back to editing the path variable. Once you select path hit the edit button that is below that list. A box will appear with "Path: in one text box and a bunch of stuff in a bottom one. Click the bottom text box and hit the right arrow till you reach the end. Enter a Semi-colon (;) and then paste the address location and hit ok. Then hit ok on all the other windows that were open behind it. Then try javac again.

It's fine, I'm glad I am getting another person into programming. And it helps me teach it for people who don't know what they are doing. Ok, find where java got installed on your computer. This could be in many places. I JUST did an install so I could give you the default location. C:/Program Files/Java is where it will install to. So find that fold and open it. Then inside there will be 2 folders. Open the one that starts with JDK. Then inside that find the folder called bin. Open it....

At the bottom of the window click the "environment variables" button. Now, in this new window look at the bottom half. There is a list of variables. Scroll till you find one called Path. Select it and hit the edit button. If you can, Determine what the path is to your java install location. Do this by finding the install and copying the address bar. Paste it to the path variable by putting a semi-colon at the end of the current path text and pasting in the path/address to your java install.

ok, I will try to supplement their instructions with more info. Go to the "setting up the path" part. I am assuming you have xp. If you have vista, you will need to do something else. Find the "my computer"icon on your desktop, or in the start menu. If the desktop icon is an alias go to the start menu one. Right click it. A menu will appear, click properties (bottom choice) from it. A window will come up. Click on the advanced tab in the bottom right of the tabs. now see the next comment.

well, gmail notifier lets me know about emails and I'm on the computer fixing stuff. Anyway, ok well it's odd you had that previous problem and now have this one. Type javac and hit enter into a command prompt, if you get the same error it means that the command isn't in your path. Look at my lesson 0 video and follow the link in the description to add the javac command to your path.

It seems to me that not only did he have the lowest chipset allowed on the PC version (not the lowest for the mac version lowest on mac is the X3100 which is like 1 step above what he has but supports alot more) but he also had a laptop chipset which states that it will run slower then the desktop chipset version. So i dunno where his overall complaint is. He's running something not really meant to run anything even remotely intensive in the least and complaining he cant game on it...

No it doesnt have overtly intense graphics requirements but even a GeForce 4 has some specs that the GMA 950 doesnt have. Driver support is not EA's fault though also its clear that the software ported over with cider normally works well... He didnt meat the minimum requirements though =/ Its not down to having to even install windows its that he didnt meet the minimum specs. GMA 950 is listed minimum for PC... But thats for the desktop chipset not the Laptop it even says (i'll add below...)

ok look. The game does not have that intense graphics requirements. It is nothing like running crisis with an old card. The reason that card is unsupported is software and driver support, not gpu. It has 7 year old video cards on the supported card list. I will agree, they do support most mac cards. And that by having integrated graphics you are kind of a cheap ass and shouldn't try gaming. But, I can understand his frustration.

Well the thing is they did support it his processor might of been up to snuff as far as design goes but that doesnt account for his GPU. It'd be like me trying to play Crysis on a GeForce 4 its just not gunna happen. Again there are tons of reports of people with the X3100 being able to run spore. But its about meeting minimum specs thats my overall point... If he met the minimum specs it leaves room to complain. Also you yourself stated Cider works well why would EA not think it would be ok?

This is usually due to bootup times and the fact that if you look at systems tested in alot of benchmarks they use some POS OEM computers that have tons of excess BS on them in all likely hood (why i dont buy prebuilt BS anymore...) Its hard to tell if it'd trounce a system with the exact same specs built by someone at home. Keep in mind these oem systems usually have the cheapest bid BS parts in them that usually suck compared to other stuff on the market and have spyware installed in them.

With the same specs? Thats actually quite doubtful if it were using the same hardware and software on it... I dont think there is any conclusive proof of either. Macs do have the issue of not really being upgradable (minus maybe the mac pro...) You also run into the cost performance ratio which the mac just doesnt have. The only overall thing is Mac's use a processor that keeps cooler and uses less power thats about it... I like OSX i really do but macs are just absurd in price vs components =/

Ok, look. It's not a matter of running just as well. It is a matter of running at all. This is not a OS issue this is a support issue. And though I cannot change your opinion about this, my opinion is that if you are committed to making games for the mac, as a major business, like EA said they were. They should have made an effort to support this computer. It was a very popular model, and it was an Intel model. They shouldn't have had to support non Intel models, but the Intel ones yes.

I bet if you ran WoW on a Mac with the Same specs as a PC setting next to it (both on different internet connections to be fair since one could ruin it for the other) The pc would run the game faster and smoother with more options available... Also the GMA 900 and 950 had some problems of their own like no hardware geometry processing , vertex shaders and a few others problems in general that would present issues with performance...

He didnt try to run it on Windows on the mac. He ran it on an EeePC not the Mac. Which in a way is a lower end system but still... Also it comes down to how the OS handles the hardware not just if the hardware can handle it. Driver issues arise as well. Apples drivers differ from Windows so the hardware may behave slightly diff. There is a diff code bae to the Apple drivers. The mac specs where higher maybe cuz the mac utilizes stuff in the system differently?

For me a new mac, is a mac that is newer than the G4 technology. And once again it is a consumer point of view for it not working, EA developed it, they need to make it work. Now, if you are looking for examples where mac actually screwed up, you cant play diablo 2 or starcraft on macs anymore because they dropped 256 color support. But if the hardware is capable of running the game, then the computer is new enough to be supported. ESP if the windows side is supported.

To my above spot there.... This is a client retooled specifically for OSX the code was rewritten and Apple even cooperated with development of the client. Thats off on a design end on Apples end if it cant utilize the full Vram of a graphics card at least in my eyes thats pisspoor. That wouldnt run most modern games those specs other then the processor as far as what he is running.... Maybe low end stuff... Im posotive if he had a newer macbook we would never of seen the first video...

He doesnt own a new mac he owns a Macbook that is 2 years old He even stated it somewhere. It isnt of spec i knew it wasnt when i heard the video the first time it needs at minimum an x3100 and he is running a GMA 950. Mac's utilize hardware quite differently to so the fact it may not work may not even be Ea's fault but rather a problem of utilization on Apples part =/. As a prime example here We'll use Second Life... 256 Mb card on mac needs to be set to 128 to run properly..

Y,es cider works well for the computers it works with, and Tiberium Wars using it was a great success. However, as a user/gamer Blunty shouldn't need to know about how it works. His point of view is EA said they were committed to developing games for mac. He owns a new mac that should be able to run the game, and he can't. And this is just my Bias. But EA is the Walmart of gaming. They don't need to make good games. They just mass shitty games for profit.

EA isnt as lazy as people make them out to be. Cider works quite well if people actually know much about it but clearly alot of people dont know much about cider really.... I use OSX , Windows and Linux..... Cider works well if your system is designed to work with it. Apple even promotes the games that utilize cider in their apple store. His system is one not utilized for Cider period (blunty's that is...) and he complains that the pc equiv works the same. Mac OSx and Window work diff period...

Well, you got me to watch Dr. Horrible again. Which isn't quite on the level of John getting me to read "Catcher in the Rye" again. But it's worthy in its own right. The production values are light (compared to TV and Features), but the writing, acting, sing, etc are worthy of repeat viewing. The third episode packs unexpected emotional wallop. Your right. He seemed hollowed out like when he was robbing the bank and he was just like, unemotional. I also learned that Dr. Horrible wanted to defeat Hammer with the death ray. He also had to commit a murder. He did both. He was accepted into the E.L.E. an I don't think that Billy wanted to be a villain anymore but, he had the desire to be in it so bad that he blocked out his other emotions. but then it shows him normal at the end, which means that billy is still there.

Another thing that just crossed my mind is that by the end the way the world views him has gone full circle. In the beginning he vlogs as his costumes persona of Dr Horrible and lives his life as Billy, just an everyday quiet sort of guy, but at the end the world recognises Dr Horrible and thus dr Horrible becomes his everyday guise tranforming Billy into the costume. I don't know if that makes sense....just thought it was interesting.

last comment was too long. He wanted it all for penny and wanted to change the world for the better just in a very round-about way. And having lost this he in one respect loses all ties to his human side and becomes Dr Horrible instead of Billy and in another way loses all ties to Dr Horrible in that he feel's nothing at all for the identity ultimatly leaving him totally lost emotionally. It's for that reason that i find the story so sad. Sorry for the mini essay :)

I agree with you, I may have worded my opinion incorrectly. what you said about him not being a bumbling supervillain but a human super villian is correct and I understand that entirely. The way i seen the end was that, he'd won, he'd finally beaten captain hammer and made it into the league and was now in a position to complete his final goal of taking over the world. But although he should be happy he becomes more miserable than he's ever been because everything he wanted, he wanted for penny.

To give you a parallel. I see my life as a sentence in the middle of a novel. It doesn't matter to me how the novel begins or ends. Whether it was written or came about naturally. I can see a paragraph before me, and I have some control on where the novel goes next. What is important is what I say and get done with my sentence in directing the novel forward. I understand that science is not truth, but a model to describe what we see. Ultimately I don't care how the universe formed. Christians do not merely live by faith as they are fully aware of God's existence. They've had experiences, which don't entirely provide factual evidence to others as they wouldn't believe until they've actually experienced the phenomenon themselves. Secondly, if you'd like an unbiased documentation that substantiates the existence of Jesus, then read up on Josephus. You also presume that Jesus was white, well let's just say he was probably middle eastern if you will.

Your requestor is likely misinformed about Jews accepting Jesus as a prophet. I'm a Jew. I was taught the Jewish religious traditions by Jews. I'm not aware of any Jewish teachers or documents that accept Jesus as a prophet. I wonder if he or she could cite a source.
