Sad that the hybrid only gets 34 mpg. This year, you can get the LTZ trim with the four cylinder and a 6-speed auto transmission that gets 33 mpg hwy, and I think the same for city. Of course, with these new EP ratings, you'll actually see much better economy in real world driving

I have to say the design of this car is really nice. Its really nice. I would buy one. However look is only half of the battle. Lets just wait and see how it will do. If the quality can hold up, then i would say american cars are back in the game with toyota and honda. But thats just for the small car. I now still prefer japanese cars cause they last better. but 5 years from now and we still reveice good response from the people, that would be it. American come back

2009 hybrid goes to 34 mpg, but 6 speed 4cyls. have been reported at 40mpg. Just shows that Hybrids are not necessarily worth the cost. GM should tout this fact that consumers save thousands of dollars and still get great MPG

this is a nice car based on getting lots of gear for less price. when you buy a BMW or a Merc you are getting basically the same stuff. this added cost is the badge in the front. if you dont care about having the bet badge then this is a very solid car to get

Looks really nice. Definately competitive with the Accord and Camry. But we're going to have to see how well it holds up over the long term (not that the Japanese are impeccable in that respect; the auto trannies of last generation Accord V6's sucked, dont know about the latest gen Accords though)

I got a new Malibu LT-2 3.6 two weeks ago, It has to be the best car for the money I have ever had, Quiet, fast and a joy to drive. I have seen 3 other road tests and all 3 were 0-60 in just under 6 seconds. So the heck with the imports, just try the new GM (Made in America) where the money stays!
