you need to re run your edges so that they form concentric circles around the eyes and the mouth. this will allow it to be animated and create better detail. especially around the mouth there should be no triangles but especially not around the mouth or the eyes since it is the part that deforms the most.

I use Blender now, but I used to use Anim8or. Whether you continue to use it or not, it is a great learning program and has made it easy to do most of the things in it. There are a few lacking features that Blender has, which is why I switched over to it. Otherwise, I'd still be using it! The "Blender: Noob to Pro" guide online makes it very easy to learn! :)

"Blender's nice": that's what I said some weeks ago, but now I see that, if you get used to an animation program, and make freaking cool animations with it, learning a more complex 3D program will make you confuse them, and at the end the animations that you'll be making with the more complex program will turn out... a bit messy. But if you finally become able to handle both of the programs, then you have become a reeeally good modeller.

there are some buttons to change it to smooth, faces, or wireframe at the top. you should be able to figure it out because there aren't all that many buttons up there

instead of merely subdividing the object, just "convert to subdivided" so that they don't actually convert. that's how he did it, cause you can see that it was rendered as subdivided, but he was dragging vertices from an original low-polygon mesh. If you want to make it back to normal, just change "working" and "final" subdivisions to "0" and if you want it to stay that way, just apply them. ;)

you had good result considering that animator's shiny surfaces doesnt hide the problems :) by now you must've switched to blender no? - truespace 7.6 is now free, it's worth looking into it, though if you're in blender you have what you need ! :)
