Buddhism has its inappropriate and fundamentalist practitioners as well, especially in some parts of Asia.

Buddhism is about an attitude towards suffering. Instead of complaining, one lets go and observes, or lets go and engages. Buddhism is not nihilistic bathing in oneness, it is nondual realization coupled with positive but realistic attitude. Once a certain level of mastery has been achieved, there is no pain and suffering, just pain and toughness.Suffering is unwise reaction towards objects, while action towards the alleviation of suffering and action towards the expansion of consciousness isn't.

I have made a reference to you in a post on Mathfails Buddhists are Nazis video page. It was done with compassion and i think if nurtured right, homosexuality is, a plato says, divine.

well yes I am, I thought you were asking about my views on religion. Even if I was roman catholic I would still be an activist gay rights, seeing as marriage is a contract and has nothing spiritual in it, marriage has not been spiritual since the protestant movement, before the united states was even around.(i know that sounds funky but remember we got a lot of our morals from England)

You can't get rid of disease in any way.. Even though you let go of it, it's still there, but you don't suffer from it.. Bad things will happen no matter what, but only when we're attached to them does it make us suffer..

so you're not politically active in any way? gay rights, gay marriage, family etc. etc.

I get what your trying to say, I just don't understand, I guess it just seems to make no sense to me. If you could avoid things like disease by just letting go of them then it would be our bodies natural defense right? maybe I'm over simplifying here

If you crab a hot coal, you will suffer because of your attachment to it.. If you let go of the coal, you will no longer suffer, even though the coal is still hot.. When you're sick, basically the same thing applies.. You suffer because of your attachment to the sickness.. You can let go of your sickness by just allowing it to be, change how you relate to the sickness to something more constructive or simply think of something else.. Then you're no longer attached and no longer suffering..

Surprisingly no, I was actually raised in a house hold with an atheist mother and a roman catholic father, for a few years I went to a catholic school. So at least Catholicism I got to know pretty well at a young age. I did not like the church long before I even knew what gay was. I think it helps these videos, because I can offer a perspective some can not, but in the end even if I loved the vagina I think I would still be here doing this.

Is the attack on religion the result of their condemnation of your sexuality?. No harm intended, I would be interested to hear on how you understand yourself in this sense and to what extent your sexuality defines you/establishes for you your identity.

Buddhism is a religion and to a greater extent that christianity, a real, transformative spirituality.
