okay if you know the songs, saxes play some of the background vice parts, liek in the orignial supreme songs flo and mary's parts would also be played by the saxes to reinforce it. and mariahs also singing quiter because she forgot the words a few times, which is normal 'cause its not her song. but mariah still sounded good, never said anything about her sounding bad.

She was a lot better back then and her songs had more meaning. She went to R&B/hip-hop way to much. She could have been remembered as one of the best female singer-songwriters of all time but she kinda blew it. Even though she is still a hit maker she is not as good as she was. the reason she sang stop singing my part now baby was down to the fact she was singing using playback. so when she stopped singing live her playback would carry on playing. but she messed up and it was obvious so she blamed it on her backing singers singing her part. Mariah was pretty pissed about that background singer coming in at the wrong time. She is a great singer and no matter what she does at this point she will still be a legend. Her voice isn't the same but that's over a decade of hitting all those high notes. There is going to be wear and tear on her vocal cords since she does the whistle so much. Sorry Mariah fans lets all face it she isn't getting any younger and sooner or later she wont be able to sing at all

I agree, it always surprises me, that all of our (czech) tv (sport-)moderators can correctly pronounce names of arbitrary country - american, finland, hungarian and so on.. Maybe they have some decency to spend 3 or less minutes to learn it.. The same is correct for writen names, we write any symbol above letters that name contain.. I've also seen her appearance on the Czech public TV and although I don't think she's showing off, it was quite awkward to watch. No doubt she had problems with Czech, but at least I thought she could speak English fluently. Alas, she can't and I would certainly question her Italian. Must be having a hard time that gal without a language :) BTW, Czechs don't understand Polish whatsoever. You can apprehend every 10th word but that doesn't make you genuinely understand Polish, let alone speak it.

I think you're part right, but there's more to say. This movie style is a real creation, and the adaptation is powerfull, and even if it don't respect all Shakespeare's book, it captures its true spirit, its irony, its force, its inventivity and its intensity. What makes Shakespeare's writing so... Shakespearian ! If he had lived in our era, maybe he would have written it the way Baz L. filmed it ? !

In my opinion, while it may not be true to the original genius that was Shakespeare's play, I do believe it brought the play to the attention of a younger audience. Had they been shown the older movie, I don't believe they would have seen the play as anything but another dusty, difficult to understand, piece of literature they had to read in English class. I'm not saying that the original movie is dusty or bad, I'm just saying that youth isnt very excited about older movies.

Like most of Shakespeares work Romeo and Juliet is a passionate and beautiful story...this movie destroyed that trying to interest a new generation of kids by turning it into a movie where there are gangs and shoot outs.
