The Amazing Dr Nim game/puzzle

An excellent, as well as rare game made by ESR in 1965. It is actually a computer game made of plastic! There are 15 marbles, and two players take turns choosing 1 to 3 marbles, until one marble is left. The person who is left to deal with one marble, is the loser. In the video, I personally challenge Dr Nim, but he is too smart, and wins this round!!!

I got it from ebay a few years ago. It can function like many types of puzzles (including a Dino Cube), but its movements may cause the pieces to fall apart. Therefore, it is not recommended to treat it like a twisty puzzle. ;-)

In fact, those white pieces (flipflops) do all the work The position of the top 3 flipflops is changed by the previous marble and they rule the route of the next marble. They control whether or not another marble should roll The middle flipflop "reset position" changes if the goal changes (yes there are more games!) The last flipflop is about whose turn it is. It must be turned to "Dr Nim" if it's Dr Nim's turn, otherwise it's "Player's" turn All flipflops are connected logically

Actually it is many things combined together which contribute to the value of the puzzle. One of them is the rarity of this puzzle. Another is the well known creator of it, plus tha fact that he had already said he will not make more. And I will be honest, I haven't seen any other such puzzle. ;)

Yeah, thats what I was thinking. It looks like a really cool puzzle, but solving it would be the same as solving a normal square-1 just with extra work after getting the top and bottom layers to the cube shape. It would look a lot more impressive to other people though :P lol.

Magic Octopus and Eledone from Kastellorizo

Hmm.. definately one of the better goals.. I just have a question though.. there was one goal scored in the 80's.. I think it was England not sure.. but the goal was scored as the ball was bouncing out of the goal line, kicked back in and curved hitting the top post and into the net. statistic probability said the keeper litteraly had to lift his arm to block any surface area to score.. just wondering if you know which goal that is? cause I cant remember the player for the life of me.

There have been PLENTY of goals like that. In some cases, the scorer started from the defence, much more far than Maradona. Even Messi scored an identical goal against Getafe. So pleeeease... ;-) The 1986 goal was a goal of individual class. But rare? I don't think so. There have been many better ones. Sadly, some people only watch World Cup and no domestic league games.

Obviously, many of the people who leave comments here, have absolutely no idea of the puzzle. ;-) There was the version of the Dino Cube with dinosaur stickers, but there were more with plain stickers too. Mine is the ORIGINAL cube with plain stickers and four color theme. I never replaced or intend to replace the stickers. In the future, please be careful with your comments if you don't know anything about a puzzle. The price I got it for, was $550, but that was a long time ago. :-)

Pantazis' Color Magic Box (7-tile Magic Myth)

Exactly same mechanics as the Pantazis' Magic Box. This one is more complex and more glamorous. The goal is to bring it into "open cube with a stand form". Then, the bottom tile should match with both the two tiles from the stand (as shown in the video). Not only that, the order of the symbols (winter, spring, summer, autumn) should be the correct one too! Very hard to make puzzle.

There were only two people who knew this auction. Sadly, the other bidder was also a serious collector, and I did manage to beat him, but I got it for... 150 euros! Without him, I am sure I could get it for less than 10 euros!(and that was three years ago!). ;-)

This is the best goal ever scored. I remember Lothar went on a run of great goals after he had come back from injury (this was his first for Bayern after his return form Italy). He scored great goals that season (92/93) against Bochum (another volley) and Karlsruhe (a great run). I was lucky enough to be in the stadium against Karlsruhe. These goals will live on forever.

I had the luck to be in the stadium in Leverkusen that day. I will never forget how enthusiastic everybody celebrated that goal. Also the Lev. supporters expressed their respect for such a goal. Thanks Lodda!!!!

Lothar was the most efficient midfield player of all time. He could strike the ball so easily with both feet. For me, he was a winner in the 1999 CHL final, not a runner-up, and he shouldn't have been substituted (I am also a Bayern fan!)

I remember watching this goal live on T.V., it is one of those rare soccer/football moments. In his prime(1988-1993), Lothar Matthaeus was one of the best Midfielders in the world, and for those who don't remember, in 90 he was even elected FIFA world player of the year. Today, his legend falls along the lines of Beckenbauer or Gerd Mueller. Of course, as a FC Bayern Muenchen fan, I am not entirely without bias in this regard, but so much is fact.
