Though not a Christian myself,it's always great to hear from non-judgemental Christians, I agree wholeheartedly with both women that it is best to not judge people on appearances but what is in their hearts. I have met Godly people who never went anywhere near a Church because they didn't have to. Living a good life is more important then putting on a display of piousness - if God created everything then longhair is what we are meant to have by birth right - it is after all very natural.

Paul was the one who was biased. He justified short hair by referring to nature. If you do look to nature, the males of most secies have the longer hair. Lassie was played by a male for taht reason. In African lions and Peacocks and many other animals the males have the longer hair, are more colorful; certainly the opposite of the point Paul was trying to make. Some scholars think Paul was bald. Perhaps he was subconsciously jealous that he couldn't have a nice head of long hair.

Perhaps you should recall that this passage is Paul addressing Rome, where the men who wore their hair long were either foreigners or male prostitutes. In a society where long-haired men are prostitutes, I would agree that men may not want to have long hair. For thousands of years long hair on men has been quite acceptable, if not the norm.

it is an issue on social acceptance, not morality. adam had no way to cut his hair and beard. it is ridiculous to think god cares how we wear our hair. this is our physical body and is only temporary. we should be modest in our appearance, not wanting to draw attention to our physical self. we should want to be judged by our spiritual body, not the physical. remember that in the bible, when they refer to the body, the author isnt speaking of the physical body. im glad you brought this up

I agree that we shouldn't judge one another, God will judge each of us by our works someday. And whether or not we lined up to the Word of God WILL matter. Yes, times have changed, but the bible has not. It still says, in black and white, that it is a shame for a man to have long hair but that if a woman has long hair it is her glory, for it is given to her as a covering. A ladies long hair represents God's glory... A mans long hair is shamefull. Those are God's words-not mine.

I will certainly be praying for you and I am so glad that you are OK. Just please take care of yourself. You are still young, but take care of your neck! I had an accident a year ago that hit just right and messed up 8 discs in my back and neck. A year later and it still hurts at times. Do what the doctors say. Yes, it will be expensive and you'll be paying on it for years, but you are so worth it!!!

I am so sorry for your accident. Someone pulled out in front of me about 5 years ago and the car was destroyed. They took me to hte emergency with another neck injury. These men saw me coming and it seems like they tried to make them hit me. God was my only help and he brought me through so i'm sure he loves you too and will help you, I'm soooo sorry for you. blurlaflur1

I'll definitely be praying for you...I remember when I was hit by a van crossing the street to school. I was thrown, like...I don't even know how many metres (I'm Canadian; bear in with my metric), landed in a heap....my friend walking right behind me was horrified, and FULLY expected me to be severely injured- and I lept (sp?) to my feet, almost completely unharmed (much to the shock of the dr. who looked at me that day). We serv a God of miracles.

during our trip to seattle washington, we stayed at my grandpa's property. He has a pair of four wheelers and my brother tried to teach me and my best friend teri how to four wheel. You think since we were born and raised in colorado, the land of outdoor hobbies, we'd be a pro at it but we, believe it or not, are mostly "indoor" girls. LOL. But it was really fun.
