He's beautiful! For the dish, you mentioned you'd like a bigger one. I use a large dog dish for mine and he loves it. He also loves to hide under it so if you get one and you find he's always under it? Keep it in the warm end of the tank! Later on when mine's bigger I'll be buying a low plastic tupperwear tub for his bath/water. The 6 foot tank you'll probably have to build, which is usually quite fun. We just use wood and then Plexiglass for the sides. It's a LOT cheaper than glass!

that just seems right, but you really have to get rid of that moldy half log hide, and get a rock cave, it's makes the tegu feel much more secure, and also add some fake plants, baby tegus sometimes enjoy climbing, or again, it makes the tegu feel more secure
