Well for starters, their record company was stealing them blind. Fantasy invested some of the millions CCR was making for them in some shady off-shore bank. They convinced the group to put most of their money in too. During this time, CCR was balking at the typically lousy contract they signed, with John being most upset. Fantasy got wind that this bank was going bad, they pulled their money, allegedly telling CCR to do the same. Only John never got the word. He lost millions almost overnight.
