I think popular music's decline started with disco. There have been many great bands since this era, but they are not considered "pop' music. When big corperations took over radio and gentrified all of the programming, that was the death of the popular rock era. American Idol is just another nail in the coffin.

Trivia: While the band took its' name from a mountain outside of Boulder, CO, "Sugarloaf" was also a technique of shipping marijuana through the mail by soaking it in water/sugar syrup, compacting it into a brick, and letting it dry. Obsolete now, this was before drug-sniffing dogs, x-ray machines, etc.

Funky, inspired and rocking, with excellent guitar work. Ah, GREEN EYED LADY! Magnificent. Clearly the Doors influenced this tune, and in all the right ways. But the bass line and the guitar work are truly unique. SUGARLOAF really laid down the groove on this one, and the lyrics are dead solid perfect. Rock on.
