The codes combintaiton is good(left hand), especially bass. But your right hand need to play it more naturally. Your right hand moves too much, which can slow down your right hand. You can practice fingerstyle arpegios My version is not yet good. :)

Another great player is Andie Cayne (classical), she used to be with "Guitarist". Intro was "Stairway to Heaven", just a "throw in". I added my own "flavor" of sorts. Richard Stokkereit, a UK player, transcribed this piece. Guitar Techniques mag (UK pub.) June 1999- Doesn't have all the intricate details of the original, (I've played along with the John Williams version-it's pretty close). Plus there is at least a half dozen mistakes on my part. Needs some work-call this a "rough draft". Not the easiest, but I think it gets the "message" across. Thanks Julie.

It's out of the "C" chord, (C,F,D7,G7,E7,Am,F,G7,C,Am,Em,D7,G,C,G,D7,G7,C) although this was played on my Tacoma Papoose guitar which is tuned to an "A", (like having a capo on the 5th fret on a regular guitar), so it has a higher pitch sound. I combined the melody and chords from "The Best Christmas Guitar Fake Book Ever"--great book. Thanks for your comment and Merry Christmas! --Van

Hallo meine Freund. Not quite "mastered", yet. Still have the 2nd half to work on. The 1st half is hard, the 2nd half is harder, in my humble opinion. As noted, this is in the Original Key of "C"--quite difficult. Did you like that "spacey", "up and down" scale? It has an interesting sound don't you think? I call it "Simon Dinnigan Scale" because I learned it from him via a magazine article. Try experimenting it out for yourself, you'll see/hear. Thanks for watching and listening! --Werner

Thanks "Mymymy". The guitar is from Canada (your neck of the woods)--a "Seagull" model S-6. I bought it in the early 1990's new, so all that "wear" I can prouldy say I did. I love it! It's great and --very affordable too. I think I paid $300. I never had any problems with it. I'm considering getting another Seagull acoustic/electric cutaway. I highly recommend the "Seagull" brand. --Van

Yes--The importance of practicing to a metronome and I am guilty of not practicing enough with one. That's why I took an "on line" course, (The Sakari Method)--I'm half way thru, which ALL you do is practice to a metronome. quite good. The only criticsm i would make is that you need to pay more attention to the time signature of the piece. The piece is in 6/8 but some parts you play sound like 2/4.

I know what you mean. Hammer-ons (and pull-offs) just need to be practiced. Isolate the hammer-on part and do it over and over again. Make sure it's the TIP of your finger doing the "hammering". Soon you'll hear the hammer-ons sounding. I can't stress this enough--Practice slowly with a metronome (take it from someone who, for the longest time, didn't practice with a metronome). Start metronome at 42 and go up one notch until at least 84. In a week you'll notice improvement-guaranteed. --Van

Yeah I think your right. I corrupted it. This was from memory (taken from a magazine- a few years back). I really need to play along to sheet music--to get it right. I kinda like the "flow" (even if I added an extra beat)--my fingers wouldn't-couldn't stop moving. Also I added "my own" ending--just for the Fun of it. And the guitar is a Takamine CD132SC (Electro-Acoustic Nylon Cutaway)--it's got a great preamp (that I never use)! Hmm maybe I should...Thanks for watching. --Van

Thanks Julie. I got in September for $350 used. Brand new it's over $600. It's a Tacoma Papoose PE-1. This is "Tacoma" built , the new ones are built by Fender, (Fender bought the company last year). It's tuned to an "A", like having a Capo on the 5th fret on a regular guitar. Also this one can be "plugged" into an amp, most don't have the built in Fishman pickup. I love it.

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it. I was kinda "pre-celebrating". It's basically out of the "G" chord, if you do a google search you should find the tabs out there. (If you don't, let me know). The 2nd part was a quick rendition of "My Favorite Things"--I couldn't help myself. Also it was played on my Tacoma Papoose guitar, which has a Higher "A" tuning. Plenty of time to practice 'till "Spring Training"...
