The Amazing Dr Nim game/puzzle Posted by: kastellorizo
Video duration: 145 seconds An excellent, as well as rare game made by ESR in 1965. It is actually a computer game made of plastic! There are 15 marbles, and two players take turns choosing 1 to 3 marbles, until one marble is left. The person who is left to deal with one marble, is the loser. In the video, I personally challenge Dr Nim, but he is too smart, and wins this round!!! Related: computer, game, mathematics, nim, puzzle Display Video Comments | Hide Video Comments | Add Comment |

Pantazis' Color Magic Box (7-tile Magic Myth) Posted by: kastellorizo
Video duration: 65 seconds Exactly same mechanics as the Pantazis' Magic Box. This one is more complex and more glamorous. The goal is to bring it into "open cube with a stand form". Then, the bottom tile should match with both the two tiles from the stand (as shown in the video). Not only that, the order of the symbols (winter, spring, summer, autumn) should be the correct one too! Very hard to make puzzle. and i thought a square 1 was a pain to solve =p
By: kastellorizo. on 03 Jun 08, 18:17:34
Actually it is many things combined together which contribute to the value of the puzzle. One of them is the rarity of this puzzle. Another is the well known creator of it, plus tha fact that he had already said he will not make more. And I will be honest, I haven't seen any other such puzzle. ;)
By: sailinghomeward. on 03 Jun 08, 17:51:55
Aaaaarrrgh ! I wasn't expecting that ! More than £100.....To be honest, I would of gone £100. Blinking hopeless then. A great pity. I really wish I could get one ! Bill
By: kastellorizo. on 03 Jun 08, 17:45:12
LOL I bought it two years ago for more than 100 pounds!!! I do not plan to sell it, even for 600 pounds. And I can asure tou, I am not joking here! ;) In my book, puzzle currency is far more superior to money currency.
By: sailinghomeward. on 03 Jun 08, 17:40:51
Suppose I offered you £60 Bill
By: kastellorizo. on 03 Jun 08, 16:03:09
Thank you for the offer, but I am a collector who never trades unique pieces. You could try your luck at the twisty puzzles forum. If you ask, there might be someone up to the task. :)
By: sailinghomeward. on 03 Jun 08, 15:21:46
I tried Yang Ho Lee, and he said that he doesn't do them anymore. Is yours for sale ?I'd really like to buy it. I'd pay fairly good cash for it.....Bill
By: Abe27342. on 24 May 08, 11:50:42
Yeah, thats what I was thinking. It looks like a really cool puzzle, but solving it would be the same as solving a normal square-1 just with extra work after getting the top and bottom layers to the cube shape. It would look a lot more impressive to other people though :P lol.
