Cream White Room (Royal Albert Hall May, '05) Posted by: SkylarEC
Video duration: 338 seconds Cream Reunion Tour - May 2005 - Royal Albert Hall Eric Clapton was sick with the flu when they recorded this, but when snaps into that solo, man it's amazing. If I didn't already play the guitar, this solo'd make me want to play. Also, I hadn't noticed how much Clapton's voice had inproved since the 60's, but it's an amazing Change. +1000 Clapton's tone here is just so bad,it's almost unlistenable. It's a shame because Bruce and Baker (esp Baker) sound really good. Clapton's playing is good, but that tone is horrid! Plus, where's the wah-wah? This was a signature wah tune.

Eric was helping his mates out with these shows, they needed a cash infusion is my guess. Clapton is the man, but doing these shows without a Gibson with PAF's and a Marshall is WRONG! Its hard to listen to without that sound. But he is Clapton and he can do what he pleases eh guvneh?

hey guys whats age gotta do with it? its not age that counts its ATTITUDE. look at ozzy, look at lemmy, dio. all out there giving it everything as much as ever. not saying cream sounded bad, theres just an aura of disinterest and lack of motivation, especially from clapton who has spent too many years in M.O.R heaven. as for jack bruce. dont get me wrong. i still love them - i just want them to turn the FIRE up! you know?

well u cant blame clapton for his band performance because he was sick at the time. I beleive it was the flu or something like that

Come on, man! Think how old they were! Ginger was certainly not looking as good as he used to, he must have been in his 60's then... so they did pretty darn well. But you can't the original Cream...
By: jbslegend. on 31 Aug 08, 14:01:12
you know, i love cream. but this reunion thing stinks and i'll tell you why. the band have lost all of their fire and just go through the numbers like they are some kind of fucking cabaret act. compare this version to the 68 live version and youll see what i mean. clapton is the worst offender. i wish these great bands would stay retired unless they intend to come back and play with the same vigour and power they had before, otherwise theyre just tarnishing their legacies

I half expected seeing Clapton with his old SG. You can't get him off his Strat. XD

True art never ages, I love watching the younger people in the audience digging it. We were digging it close to 40 years ago....

Excellent Drumming

I'm just saying, with all the different styles and techniques out there...you can't possibly just give someone a number and say this is how good they are compared to someone else. It just doesn't work that way.

Not really...Clapton is a better ranking guitarist than me. We could rank most influential guitarists currently living, although it would be tough between Clapton, BB King, and Buddy Guy. I'd probably rank them in that order, 1-2-3.
By: jlt4926. on 28 Aug 08, 22:40:02
Ranking guitarists is stupid

man eric has some kinda fuzz pedal on it sounds like
By: PatRobls. on 28 Aug 08, 19:50:17
I think Mark Knopfler is up there too. He might not be as commercial as Clapton, but everyone who plays guitar knows him and his unique rhythms have been greatly influential to rock, jazz, blues.

Cool does that mean we can play a board game together?
By: jbelden36. on 27 Aug 08, 19:02:35
Eric Clapton for U.S. President in '08! Seriously-and his pal Steve Winwood for VP.
By: Bravo86. on 27 Aug 08, 11:59:11
I'm open to argue it. There are many many great guitarists out there. SRV is a strong competitor for the #1 spot, as is Hendrix. They're both dead, so it's impossible to tell how influential they could be. Had they lived, I'm certain one of them would be #1. Clapton is #1 on so many different levels. He's influential in blues, rock, country, jazz, and reggae. He's a 3 time R&R Hall of Fame inductee, and could be brought in another 2 times. Rugshort, who did you have in mind for #1?
