When I was in university, there were times when I was so broke I had to chose either to eat my one and only meal in the morning or evening. I had a classmate that had to wait two days for her paycheck and she'd only had a bowl of rice three days before. She made it. That inspired me to go on a three day fast of no food, drink, or sleep. Every three hours, I'd do a karate kata. I started hearing noises that didn't exist near the end of the fast. So, I don't recommend doing this alone like I did.

Before I quit my religion, I used to fast... Sadly, I have a pancreatic disorder called Hypoglycemia. Though it's not this way for all hypoglycemics, I get REALLY irritable, I feel really weak in my muscles and joints, and I can actually pass out. Soooo... fasting = bad for me. :(
