hmm i have to disagree. if anything he pretends to be a "dick" or a "jerk" in order to BE funny. and i actually do find him hilarious. i generally find him to be funny all the time whether he's doing his schtick or not. but also, ricky would never verbalize when he's joking and when he's not, it's simply not necessary. in fact, referencing yourself that way is generally a comedy no-no. you would never say, "oh that was the punchline, now i'm serious".

yeah i know. when you see him on tv and at shows, he is just pretending to be a comedian. He pretends to be funny, he does a very good job at pretending to be funny. But when he stops pretending, then he says, "i'm tired of pretending to be funny, i am just going to relax now" then he stops being a comedian. What is the difference between "acting" and "pretending?" that is a matter of debate. But you must understand when he stops "pretending/acting," then he stops being funny. I've got to agree. When it comes to knowing fashion through and through, you've got to look only to Tim. I'm an American and I enjoy his music even though I'm not fluent in Korean. I think Rain is cool. I also think his english is very good. Most Americans, who take it for granted just because it is our first language, don't realize how difficult English is to learn, so cut him some slack. I think he is doing a lot better than Jackie Chan did when he first came to America.

yes, we like to hear him speak, but if he isn't going to be able to deliver his answer coherently then he should just get it translated. some of his answers could have been more elaborated upon. If he wants to be a well respected actor in the Western market then he will have to sound like it in his speech. It's not how he says it because lots of people have accents, but it's what he chooses to say. The words and sentences he chooses sometimes don't make sense in the context of the question.

Well, there are a few characteristics of LL's playing that conistently bug me. 1. His atrocious phrasing. Once the music gets vaguely virtuosic, he loses all control of his melodic line (1.50 onwards). 2. His disregard for the composer's dynamic markings. Not that I am a puritan, but he way overdoes it. 3. Exaggerated pauses. (Too obvious here.) 4. Exaggerated tempo changes and distorted rubato (1.20-what was he DOING?) Some may like it--I can't stand it. But thanks for asking. :)
