Wow...His act hasn't changed all that much, has it? But I agree, he's still hilarious! I remember one joke he did back in the 80's where he would sit on a bar stool and he'd suddenly fall 6 inches or so, he'd pause, get up, and it would look like he would be sliding up from a bare pole.. It was pretty hilarious the way he did it...

it says at the end of the video that there is no gimmicks( meaning there is no extra items to do this trick) this effect is SOOOO easy but awesome cuz it's so simple that most people can't even think of how to do it.

This trick is great for people with little tolerant for sleight of hand for impossible magic. Though if you really want to do more magic later on I think you can't avoid sleight of hand. Also this is a great kicker for pros who after doing a few tricks themselves can use this and not get caught with anything afterward because it looks so impossible.
