hes great at battery yes. but it is no harder than being in pit in dci. they are very different but require just as much skill equally. i know what im talking about. seeing as i have done both for four years and have had two amazing drum instructors who have gone through dci. the word percussionist accounts for every instrument. as a purcussionist you should be prodigious in all of them.

Great job jay, your getting better day after day. Just make sure to use marching sticks on a marching snare (like your Championship Pearl), that will have you prepared to perform in marching band

If you guys dare put him in pit you will make the biggest mistake of your life! Honestly, this kid has so much talent and I know that if you guys just barely show him to any Marching Bands/Drumlines in your state they will be blowed away! Please don't put him in PIT if they try to then move on he deserves a Drumline that KICKS *** =D I hope everything works out for you guys! You have an amazing son and he is going to be the best! =D

Yes, he plans on marching corps. He wants to do it early, and if he is mature enough and physically able (marching and carrying a drum- though blessed, healthy, happy, and normal, Jay is very short for his age) we will support him as soon as he is old enough to audition. But, if Jay marches very early (14 or 15 years old), he probably would prefer to and be better suited to play melodic percussion in the pit.
