A co worker told me that he didnt care for Vanessa because she was in his words, "too much of a show off"..well, Imma tell you something, if by some freakish chance, I was blessed with her pipes, I would show my voice off, too..Ive heard her sing this tune many times and the same way it made me feel almost 20 yrs ago when she was REALLY burnin' it to ashes, is the same way I feel now when she sings it...its her signature song and she dont muck around with it. Man, this video brings back a lot of memories! Andrea was a tremendous influence upon young Christian musicians like myself. I can make out the drummer, Bill Maxwell, Piano Harlan Rogers, and I think the guitarist was Hadley Hockensmith. The awesome thing about Andrea was that he unashamedly crossed over into the secular realm and never compromised his Christian testimony. You can tell by this video that they had church! He actually got people to sing, "He's my friend". PTL!

In my book the best gospel singer of all time. Rance has always been my favorite. He can hit all the notes and adds a flavor like none other. This is also a great song. Just to know that there is no place like heaven (home). My God that song blesses me. You might as well take up an offering and give the benediction when Rance gets through singing that song.

So glad to hear this song because it was my introduction to Rance Allen back in early 1970's. I have always been a listener to Rance interpretion of songs and he stands at the top with other giants like James Cleveland, Albertina, Joe Ligon and Dorothy Norwood. She did not err when she said cast out. Devil can come into your mind being a Christian. Can you tell me that as a Christian that you/we are so perfect that when Satan tries you that you succeed every time. To think evil of someone, gossip, etc. are evil spirits, its the Holy Ghost that helps subdue it or kill it. But it doesn't mean it doesn't come at you. Cast out = discard = rid of. She is praying that God rid of satan devices that daily comes out to throw us off track.

Maybe "keep out" would have been more appropriate than "cast out" . In Jesus' words, "How can Satan drive out Satan? ...If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand. And if Satan opposes himself and is divided, he cannot stand; his end has come." So if she believes in the name of Jesus that the devil will stay at bay she will receive what she asks for. If she prays that he's cast out, and so admits that he is within...it's like the devil ejecting himself ...impossible.

Hello lmplvsjesus, Thanks for responding to my 1st post. I did listen to the words very closely. At the 1:35 point in the video, DCC casts the devil "Out of our mind and out of our Spirit" Here is my question: If one is a believer, filed with the Spirit of God, How can one be possessed at the same time? Specifically, how can the spirit of satan and the Spirit of God dwell together in the same body? There is no Biblical support for that sentiment. Please explain. Blessings to you, Jude1and3
