The magnitude of Jesus' claims and the magnitude of his impact recorded in the bible and throughout the centuries demands a response fkghi. Jesus does not allow you to grant him the title of a "mere man" or "good teacher." And it is arrogance for you to prescribe to the God of the universe how YOU think that HE should have revealed himself before you accept it. In John 11:25 Jesus says, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies." Jesus makes the offer of eternal life conditional on faith in HIM. This would be blasphemy for anyone to say but God. So I ask you again what are you going to do with who Jesus HIMSELF claims to be?

fkghi, are you not going to answer? How much clearer can these verses you won't respond to be? And there are so many passages I've not mentioned like John 10:30 where Jesus HIMSELF said,"I and the Father are one." And again the Jews understanding what he was saying "took up stones again to stone him." You can try to ignore these verses but Jesus did forgive sins, accept worship and claim equality with God. You are confusing equality with function in John 14:28.

Luke 11 20 "But if I use God's power to force out demons" ..Statemnet from jesus using GODS power not his... Jhn 14 31 I do as the Father has COMANDED me John 14:28 "My father is GREATER THAN I" .. I meant John 8:58 below. Your reference to 8:28 is confusing since as you admit it does repeat the same phrase (ego eimi) and yet the translation "I am" doesn't bother you there? Once again, it's inconsistent to use verses which you think suit your view only to ignore others which challenge your theology. Respectfully, at some point I pray that God will use his word to impress upon you the arrogance which anyone can see reflected in your language that you believe you have God all figured out.

Jn 8:28. ego eimi is properly translated (see any greek lexicon) and it is a clear refrence to Ex.3:14 which is why the Jews "picked up stones to throw at him." The Greek words "ego eimi" are here translated as "I Am". However, the literal translation mentioned in the marginal notes of the New American Standard Bible reads; "I have been". Repeating the same phrase "I am", Jesus said; "I am (he), and that I do nothing on my own; but as my Father has taught me, I speak these things." (John 8:28). God of Moses had no instructor. I'd be happy to explain your latest verses that are confusing to you, but what about the rest of the verses that I've already given? You're not done yet. Matthew 28:9 and John 9:38. As I've demonstrated with these few verses Jesus forgave sins, accepted worship and claimed equality with God. John 5:18. You can't have it both ways you can point to some texts which you think say what you want it to say and then turn around and ignore plain language at other times. The text records that the Jews who were with Jesus understood exactly what he was claiming "he was even calling God his own Father, making himself equal with God" The testimony in this verse is also clear. Actually I've not avoided any verses, and the response to your quote in Job is straightforward, but as I said, you must deal with the claims regarding Jesus: He forgave sins - Luke 5:20; 8:48 He accepted worship - Matt.14:33; 28:9; John 9:38 He claimed equality - John 5:18; 8:58; 17:5 Here are few to start which I hope you consider. Also regarding Jesus dying for sins, take a look at John 1:29.

In regards John 20:28, Thomas was shocked because he THOUGHT Jesus was dead from HERESAY. Then when Jesus ATE FOOD to PROVE he was not resurrected because the bible clearly says resurrected bodies dont eat. When jesus said handle me and see, and the people wern't conviced. Jesus asked for food to PROVE he Was not KILLED nor crucified... Thomas then realised his mistake thinking Jesus died and said "O My god, My god". He was in shock that Jesus wasnt dead.
