FYI: The Chicago Spire project failed. Although construction had sarted and most of the foundation work was completed, poor sales and the credit crisis doomed it. The tower will not be built.

I was referring to the building at 1:04, but you already said that structure represents the Dubai Towers :) (I didn't really pay close attention to the comments). About the Al Burj, Wikipedia still says it's going to be 1 KM tall as of 2007-08-10, but maybe the article isn't updated.

They started the construction already....? I don´t believe you. The latest thing I read is that they are not even sure they gonna build it a mile high. They are gonna build a tower for sure but exactly when and how tall is not out yet. But maybe you have more information that you got from someone involved?
