Definitely one of his most brilliant and honest monologues!

I vote personally, but it dont matter to me either way if people vote or not... They are still gonna bitch so it makes little difference one way or the other.
By: Melmann95. on 02 Dec 08, 02:53:44
Here in Australia we have mandatory vote, and it ain't that great. There are loads of people who just don't care enough to vote properly so they vote for person whos better looking or who has better public image, regardless of what their policies are. Our current prime minister went on Rove (popular talk show) and his opponent didn't and I'm sure he got good chunk of votes from Rove's fans. Then there are people who just cant get out of their house to vote, so they take $20 fine and just pay it.

it's to do with freedom concept i guess like they thought it was best to say hey if we are truely free why do we even have to vote if we don't want to i don't know i think it's retarded to not have to vote but i can understand i the idea

In my country everybody gets a note at home, with that note you go to a voting box and vote..in my neighboorscountry it's an obligation to vote..how come america, as "bringer o democracy" does not have an oblgatory vote? why do they need to register?
By: hertblue. on 25 Nov 08, 21:14:51
Personally I think there should be mandatory voting with an abstention box on the ballot paper for people who wish to express their wish not to vote and dissatisfaction with all the candidates. Too many people have given so much, too many people have died for the democratic privilege and we should all, Scots like myself or Americans or anyone else, take it very seriously. Apathy is just not right in this. But anyway, well said Craig. Much better than making cheap digs about the old country ;-)
By: frateradrastus. on 25 Nov 08, 18:08:16
The idea of "running" a country or an economy is completely absurd anyway, but you're right, since I didn't vote I won't complain about how the country is run. I'll just complain about the existence of the state to begin with.
By: LadyOhEvans. on 25 Nov 08, 17:31:13
what he said in the end, i cannot agree. but i try not to talk about politics seriously, cuz it always leads to trouble, arguement, and unneccessary voice raising. not worth it to be honest. Craig is excellent tho,but sometimes he loses a bit standard. but at least,he's funny and not a knob :)
By: jmichael103. on 25 Nov 08, 13:11:50
Both candidates and political parties should Thank Him for that monologue....
By: Shaedle. on 24 Nov 08, 22:56:30
OK. Let's discuss the situation with Iran. Bush says the USA should invade Iran because they're building nuclear weapons. They, Iran's politicians at least, have made it very clear they plan to use the weapons on Israel. People say we should let the UN handle it. But how do you argue with Iran without saying the US can have weapons and YOU can't. No matter how you dress it, you sat Iran is untrustworthy. Why, then, is invading, in order to protect innocents in Israel a bad thing?

7:15-7:45 Classic. Awesome.
By: Riptide555. on 23 Nov 08, 14:05:15
Very true, anyone who dosnt vote has NO right to complain about how the country is being run. At the very least if Obama ends up doing a bad job those who did not vote for him can say: "Dont blame me, I voted for Mccain".
By: TheJokerEffect. on 23 Nov 08, 08:54:48
I think that you're right about Craig, and that it would be awesome if he could take over for Letterman some day soon. Unfortunately, I think Dave isn't gonna retire until New York is under water. xD Maybe not even then. lol But yeah, they're both great.
By: rell127. on 23 Nov 08, 02:14:01
actually diddy did vote Paris Hilton didn't vote
By: williamkendrick. on 22 Nov 08, 06:50:41
yup.
By: elzoog. on 21 Nov 08, 20:53:02
If you do vote you're a moron. Basically, the people at the top are going to do whatever they want anyway. They don't care about you at all. It doesn't matter if you voted for Obama or McCain. Obama is going to do whatever he wants now that you voted him in.
By: BigWilly53. on 21 Nov 08, 13:46:54
I'd argue that Craig is the best late night guy right now. With Conan taking over The Tonight Show maybe its time for Dave to step aside. Late night anchored by Craig vs. Conan would be wicked. I dont really count Colbert/Stewart in the same group as they do their own thing.

By: kaduzy. on 20 Nov 08, 02:21:57
Ah . . . where did you hear about "all immigrants"? Was there some national survey of immigrants where 100% of those polled said they agreed with this? You're overreaching here, big time. Immigrants, like any groups of people representing different nationalities, ethnicities, religions and cultures aren't all going to share one giant opinion like they're some conglomerate life form sharing one brain.
By: rufusminnie. on 19 Nov 08, 13:23:22
You go, craig! It takes a Scot to size things up right. (Where else do men wear skirts and still are MANLY! WOW!) And the bagpipes--what more beautiful music in the world? Long live Craig Ferguson. Yayyyyyyy!
