No you are not,it would seem that back in the 80's everyone was doing playback and you are quite right,IT SUCKS! Just try and look for SANDRA(maria magdalena) and every vid with her on the tube,it is all playback,I think you screw your fans if you do playback and thank god most performers today do live shows even on tv-shows.

I was actually fortunate enough to see Laura when she came to Melbourne Australia in the late 80's and the then again in the early 90's. She sang this song at the second show I went to and fair dinkum it was amazing. The audience didn't clap or cheer for what seemed like ages then we all erupted and clapped and cheered for about 10 minutes after. An amazing lady with an amazing voice. Love you Laura RIP

Wow...that power and vibrato man. She was great, maybe the most under-rated female vocalist of all time. I didn't appreciate her as much as I should have when she was at her peak in the 80's, but every time I see or hear her, I am so impressed. There was something very sexy about her, and something about her makes me think she was a good person too. I hope she knew, better yet "knows" how much people appreciated her. Very sad indeed that such a talented young girl is taken away before her time.

For what my opinion's worth, I think this may be the greatest vocal performance in the history of pop music. The general consensus seems to be that Laura never really found her true position in music but, as her fans know, she simply kept to her own path and did what she wanted to do. I can't think of any performance of hers that demonstrates that point better than this one. RIP you beautiful person, Laura, from a late fan.

There, I have had my fun for the night, and I won't do it again. John, I want to thank you, Sookie, Kormoran, Ledge69, Videobuff, TomBay and anyone else who has posted any of Laura's music or videos. I never got to see Laura sing, I missed my one chance to see her at the Turning Stone, as I didn't know about it at the time. John thanks for posting this wonderful video. It really touches me when Laura's voice almost cracks when she is saying the introduction. You know that she has truly felt personal loss in her life, and we can all relate to such losses in our lives. TF-1, send me the papers so I can sign up as a Colonel in Branigan's Brigade! Recently I discovered Lauras music on Youtube. I am still in awe of her angelic voice. She seems to have been an exceptionally warm and loving person. Her voice sends love, hope and a hint of eternity. In my life is an before and after learning about her music. I wept my way through her videos. (and thanks to the folks who attend to this online source of her music by preparing and uploading the videos.)

Thank you! I was only 3-4 years old when I saw this song played. It's no doubt the first song I remember hearing in my whole life. Thanks for bringing back memories. :) I will say though, her music video for this song probably isn't something for a four year old. ;)
