What is your opinion on Self-destructive mines? As a former combat engineer, one who both mines and de-mines, I have noticed the increased use of both anti-personnel, and anti-tank self-destructive land mines over the years, designed to ensure less, if not all civilian casualties are adverted... Now I am not bringing this up because I fully support the use of land mines but I will say it is a highly affective, and viable war-time weapon

Hi Chuck. The UN has set dates for each country to be cleared by. The last is 2015. However problem is that now cluster bombs are replacing landmines and they are being used ALOT. For more info google: landmine monitor. Peace

Thanks for the great video. A figure I was interested in knowing was: with the current rate of clearance, assuming all mine laying/cluster bomblets/uxo stopped today, what sort of time line would be looking at for a mine/cluster/uxo free world? Please include this in your next report or feel free to respond if you know the figure =)
