thx for asking. I have four favorite Hitchs, being Notorious, Rear Window, North by Northwest and this one, which I would consider his masterpiece, because it stands alone in his oeuvre and is quite uncomparable (that may be the reason you don't like it a whole lot). It grows with repeated viewings and I'm sure you'll feel different about the ending, which really doesn't follow any common American interpretations of "justice".

How the hell is this "Vertigo in ten minutes"? This video would not make much sense to someone who hasn't seen the film and there are huge plot issues you leave out. The video doesn't make clear who the woman he's kissing is supposed to be. And what about what happens afterwards...the big secret of the film? This video is a waste of time, IMO.

I'd love to watch this one without the soundtrack. Bernard Hermann was a great composer -- think Psycho -- but I think that the music, through most of this movie, is unneccessary and annoyingly gratuitous. Especially in the hotel scenes.

Ja, dom borde ha gjort orginalet 10 minuter. Men ja, den är fortfarande seg. Kanske att dom skulle ha gjort den 3 minuter lång, och lagt på bra musik, och sen slängt in någon omotiverad bröst-scen efter dödsscenen.

It's very sad! And people need to realize that not all Nazis during this tragedy were involved. Like this poor little girl. She was raised to hate Jews like some of us were raised to hate Nazis. I'm not in ANY way saying to pity the horrible people who commited these awful acts, but like you said people need to realize that there were victims like this girl who simply didn't know any better. I thought she fainted due to fear that Emmi would turn her in..? Its a bit sickening that she is talking about these concentration camps like they were holidays, and the officers children are brought up around all this horror. This poor girl is being brought up this way and never has the chance to make her own choices. Thats sad.

i absolutely love this scene. at first, the girl is totally threatening to turn her in to her father as a warning, but as soon as Meryl faints, she helps her recover. i don't think the girl is selfish. to me, its more like Emmi was raised to hate Jews and Polacks, but you find that underneath, she doesn't really have a true hatred for them, its just on the surface because of her parents.

Thank you :-) Most of the movie is in English. Meryl Streep's character is multilingual. Some of the scenes are in Polish, others in German. It even seems she is speaking German with a Polish accent.
