I got this virus on my other laptop, for a while my laptop wouldn't even load. I tried downloading the software to remove Antivirus XP but it blocks the site and reroutes me elsewhere! HOW I REMOVED ANTI-VIRUS XP 2008 ne way, I had this virus like 5 mins ago but I used malwarebytes' anti-malware (trial version = free) and it worked like a charm. wen u install, make sure to check the update box. run the quick scan and let it catch those viruses then just hit the remove button. after you remove the viruses, a log is created based on the results of removal. Restart ur comp 2 c if the chances worked and run the scan again if uwanna. THANK UWALWAREBYTES!!!1

The maker of the viruses has followed videos like this to learn the weaknesses of the virus, and has improved them. You can boot into safe mode, and you won't be pestered by lots of pop-ups, but the virus is still there. RegEdit is disabled, MSConfig is missing. The "VIRUS ALERT!" message in the clock still exists, and most functions are disabled or difficult to access. Don't forget: windows-r for run.

FYI, the newest version of "MicroAV" and "PC Health Center" cannot be deleted using the above video. I've had some success going into safe mode, where the pop-ups don't happen all the time, but the virus is still active and prevents me from deleting certain files, such as c:\windows\pchealth\helpctr\pchsvc.dll. There is also a folder "batch" in the \helpctr folder that says "access denied."

Hello, I have the Micro AV virus but it is very agressive. When i try to start up my virusscanner my pc reboot's. Then i used the bootable version of avast "BART". This helped me to remove Micro AV from the program files. But now there is one problem... the best option i would suggest is to do a repair of windows. For that boot from the windows disk. Begin a new install. Press F8. And on the next screen that appears , press R for a repair install, that will repair windows while keeping all the programs and the files on your computer safe.

I tried all the virus programs they didn't work. The only way it got off of my computer was just to system restore,I know it is drastic, but it works. Just click start- all programs- accessories- system tools- system restore. But however that stupid virus added a restore point onto my computer that would still make me have the virus- so I had to go to search- all files and folders- look under file drives c&d- then type in system restore- then delete the one which was modified most recently.

the task manager was disabled from the registry ... you could fix it from there. But to get access to a process or file that is used you can always use file folder unlocker. It's easyer then going through the registry :P I know you probably solved your problem by now ... but just in case for future problems like this (or for any kase in wich you want to delete a file being used by a process)

Anybody who gets XP Antivirus 2008 is a bonehead. No, it didn't "install itself" somebody clicked ok. Why would you click ok for fake codecs if you already have WMP/Flash/QTime installed? I work as a PC technician, I have A+, N+, CCENT. So trust me when I say your dumb if you get this virus. I go to adult sites, never get this crap on my PC's runnning wind0wz...

please mention which version of windows are you using. I would suggest you run the System restore to go back to a restore point prior to the infection, and see if that helps. Now for the files, Boot the computer in safe mode. Then use the search feature to find the files on the hard disk, and delete them.

Right click on the Task bar at the bottom (were you see the Start button) and click on Task Manager then go to Processes. There you will see 'av2009' click on it and then press End Process then click yes again to terminate it once and for all. Now you can delete the Antivirus2009 folder that was in your C:\ Drive. And also get the Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to get rid of the registry files aswell.

u should check out the user mrizos he fills a computer full of malware,spyware,vriuses,trojans then trys different antivirus software against the computer to see how good it does/ nod which people go on and on about as the best got rid of all the viruses but couldnt get rid of any spyware or malware/ avast got rid of everything accept the browers hijackers / windows one care didnt get rid of anything/and kaspersky got rid of pretty much all of it but a few pieces/

I got it this 'mourning' (Bad pun). I found that doing a system restore merely and hour from when it is first installed seems to do the trick (Haven't had any problems yet) So people who get infected with it should at least give 'System Restore' a shot if they can't rid it manually. Hope this helps for all you poor peeps.. Thanks for the video!
