Horses are very sensitive they know what is and isn't in your hand. She doesn't need to move it. She was moving it because she didn't want the horse to stop. The horse stops on the circle when they aren't secure or are bored.

I agree that you need to be a little more careful when you do this. Lunging him over such a large jump on such a tight circle can lead to disaster. And to whoever made the comment that xcountry footing isn't always ideal, that is true, but it's always approved before competition and there is never any danger that the ground will be hard enough to break a horses hoof.

Immature? I'm SMART. Horses aren't just 'puppies' you can drag along over a jump from behind. Horses are big, muscular and HEAVY animals that can trample you without a second thought, even if you think they 'love you very much'. Sure, they might love you, but that doesn't mean they won't hurt you by accident. Seriously, you GROW up, learn how to be smart with your horse and hopefully yu won't end up in the ER.
