You know, I know exactly what he going through. And it's very scary and you feel like theres no one there to help you. Diffrent kids have diffrent abilities and sometimes we dont really know whats going on. And it doesnt matter how someone looks on the outside, for us, nothing else really matters but staying safe. I grew up in Galloway Ohio. Just west of Columbus. When I was in high school, a friend of mine was driving me home from a night out at around 1-2am. Galloway used to be more of a rural area than it is now years later. When we came around a curve on Hall Road, their was something that looked like a human crouched on the side of the road. these fucking rats have no fear of people whatsoever, but will run when a cat is nearby. It's nature. Many cats can kill a rat three times its size. I truly believe that freeing all the cats they want to put to sleep will take care of the problem. I have adopted many, many cats, let them free, and in the neighborhood, until all the cats were stolen, there was a real reduction. in Gracie Square, one of the most expensive places in NYC, we have problems with rats coming right up the toilet. I actually have to lock the toilet seat closed. Please, SPCA, let the unwanted cats loose, and they will kill these rats before it gets worse. This is not just limited to harlem, it is everywhere in Manhattan, no matter how rich or poor. I cringe whenever i have to take a leak and unlock the toilet seat. Poisons and traps do no good, i think that cats would.

NYC has had this problem throughout its existence. I will never ever understand why they put cats to sleep in NYC in the animal shelters. When my cat was 8 months old, he brought home a dead rat twice his size. Why doesn't the animal shelters simply let the cats go free? This would end the rat problem. I'm sure these rats could kill some cats, but there are many cats that by nature can kill a HUGE rat, you'd be very surprised. We need to let these cats loose and see what happens.
